Enjoy Your Easter!

As I sit here typing this, it's Easter Saturday, the weather is beautiful, we have a four day weekend, it's the first bank holiday of the Spring ... So are you enjoying it? Fab if you are, though sometimes times like these can be trying to say the least ...

As the first, fab long bank holiday of the year appeared on my horizon, I was delighted with all the possibilities it offered ... To start with my mother told me she wanted to go out for lunch on Easter Sunday. Fantastic - love that idea ... then I start to think ... Now it's not just my mum, there is her wheel chair, there is collecting her, there is finding some where to go that suits her needs, then there is the rest of our extended family ... can they all fit in and join in ..? Negotiations, arrangements, discussions and compromises followed and plans were agreed ...

Already it was starting to become overwhelming ...

Well this is just ONE day out of four ... on the other days I decided to hold a BBQ for a few friends and next thing I knew 12 people were invited ... then I had to get the house straight and the garden sorted, fit in some DIY and decoration, catch up with other friends. Record some video blogs ... and so on and so on and arrrgggh - my head starts to spin ...

My gorgeous Easter weekend has threatened to crowd in on me ... more like ENDURE than ENJOY. I can see this happening and so I have decided that instead of trying to please every one and be perfect ... I would NOW contemplate how can I enjoy MY Easter, celebrate the opportunities I have created (because I HAVE created and contributed to them) and help everyone around me enjoy THEIR Easter too ...

As a result, I took time out and went for a walk in the gorgeous sunshine with my IPod on full blast for 20 minutes, and came back having prioritised a few things I can do quickly and easily to kick everything off. I've simplified my arrangements, made some short cuts and asked for help. If YOU are finding Easter exasperating, give yourself a breather and see what you can do to make it easy instead ...

So hey - -my video blog has been replaced with a written one, cos it's easier and quicker and now I am gonna have a Hot Cross Bun break and then an hour or so of sorting out, so that just enough is done so that when it comes time to share my time and energy with my fantastic family and friends I will be calm and happy and ready to enjoy OUR Easter.

Have a Peachey Easter everyone!

With love and serenity ;-)

Sandra
